Graphic designer

More than ten years of experience in web design and multimedia. Self-motivated with a high level of responsibility and professionalism. Creative problem solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Very familiar with UCSD’s web accessibility guidelines from W3C, Section 508 ADA and ISO. Frequently use Jaws and VocalEyes low vision screen readers looking for accessibility problems testing particular URLs with web applications like WAVE.

Designed and produced layouts, mechanicals and storyboards for multimedia presentations, corporate and non-profit design, branding development, and organization’s design guidlines, advertising, typography, logos, web sites, on-line stores, web animation, point of purchase, kiosks, t-shirts, newsletters, posters, manuals, brochures, menus, packaging, etc. for various companies and educational institutions. Supervised and approved all pre-press material maintaining a close working relationship and communication with the client, the creative team and vendors throughout all the steps of the project.

Photography

Photographed subjects and objects for clients' brochures and other advertising projects. Experience in black/white, color darkroom work and digital photography. Manipulated, composed, and retouched photographs using PhotoShop and Kai's Tools. Experience in chrome multimedia production using the Arion MateTrack Programmer, Sharp and Tascam 133 Tape Decks. Director CD and DVD multimedia production. Taught basic digital photography.

2002 - 2004 Taught two "Web Page Design" sesions of "College for Kids" at Southwestern College

2001 Worked as a Computer Arts instructor for the Arts Center of California in San Diego, CA.

1993 - 2000 Worked as an Adjunct Instructor for the DSPS High Tech Center at Miramar College. The average enrollment for each class was 15 to 20 students a semester. My duties at the High Tech Center were to teach predominantly learning disabled students to develop in-depth knowledge of computer keyboarding and adaptive computer devices in preparation for mainstream classes. The method of instruction was one to one demonstration of equipment and software like Microsoft Office 97, Jostens Invest Learning Destinations, WordPerfect, PageMaker, Photoshop, and special software for the disabled like DragonDictate, ZoomText, DeckTalk and VocalEyes.

1992 - 1993 Tutored Computer Graphics, Statistics, History of Art, Photography, American History, Advanced Spanish, and Pre-Algebra to students and staff at Southwestern College and Miramar College.

Computer Resource Specialist
